Brasserie Posten opened its doors in 2012 and has since been a vibrant meeting place in the heart of Geiranger.
The restaurant is located in the old post office building — a place with history in its walls. This is where Malin’s grandfather, known in the village as “Post-Petter,” worked as the first postman in Geiranger. At a time when the postal service was the vital link between people, he played an important role in everyday life in the village. Being able to continue creating life and meeting places in the same premises means a great deal to us — and keeps the history alive every day.
Brasserie Posten is owned and operated by Kenneth Løken and Malin Merok, both with strong ties to the village and a genuine commitment to creating great local experiences. We want locals, seasonal workers, and visitors alike to feel welcome — whether they stop by for a quick lunch or a long, leisurely dinner.
We are open from February to mid-December. During the low season, we are open on weekends, while in the high season we are open every day when the village is filled with life and visitors from around the world.

The revitalized art gallery is set to redefine cultural landscape.
Food and experience
With us, quality ingredients and flavorful dishes take center stage. We combine Nordic traditions with modern touches, placing strong emphasis on both food and service. The atmosphere is informal, warm, and welcoming — so that everyone feels at home with us.

More places to gather
Brasserie Posten is owned and operated by the same owner as
Olebuda — our popular summer restaurant with a large and beautiful outdoor seating area —
and Café Olé, which is open all year round and offers quality coffee, sweet pastries, and light dishes.
Together, we aim to contribute to vibrant meeting places in Geiranger — throughout much of the year.
